New favourite's at Plums

Goodness me I am never ceased to be amazed by how capricious I can be about what I love most....
My new favourite has to be the simply stunning Diane range from Marie Jo Lingerie. I have popped down the Marie Jo Diane Balcony Bra on my wishlist and intend to whisk one away when Tricia isn't looking!

We are also going to be stocking the gorgeous corsets from Eternal Spirits, we are hoping to have the lovely Susy over to help us launch it.

Once we have a date I'll post it!

Miss Kitty Plum labelled as Spam!!

The audacity of it....... do they not know who I am!

Um maybe it wasn't such a good idea to cut and paste my old blog in one chunk.

Anyway a request has gone in to have my site reviewed so if you want access to my latest little updates you can always follow me on twitter. www.twitter.com/plumslingerie.

Never fear there is always a way that I will keep in touch!

14th May
It seems that summer has yet to grace us with it's presence despite my optomism that I would have managed to pilfer a lovely new bikini and be on the beach by now. Tricia hasn't let the weather stop her and has picked a lovely Gottex Silver swimsuit to sport at the spa. I am, of course, too busy to be gadding about in a new swimwuit making eyes at the boys. I have been making my mark on twitter so you can follow me there on a daily basis.
Also due to requests from my lovely customers we are looking at providing more stockings and other hosiery so I've popped together a survey to find out exactly what you would like. You can click here to take the survey there is a prize draw and you could win £50 of vouchers.

25th April
Where does the time go? At last it is nearly summer and I shall be basting my lily white body in St Tropez so I can sport our latest bikinis on the beach. Definite advertising opportunity. Time to have a look at the T-shirt bras, I always head straight for the Marie Jo Ines in Caffe Latte, it's perfect under white t-shirts and vests for the summer. Prima Donna also do a great pre-form bra in the Satin Shaper in Cognac it's great to give you a smooth seamless line. However if you are feeling the need for a bit of glamour the new stockings from Love Me have now arrived. My favourite is the everso cute Luna di Delicate hold ups. As you can see from today's entry I have learnt how to link pages through the website. I shall be showing off this new skill in future updates so you can get straight to the good stuff!
9th April
Good Friday and our little boutique is closed. Tricia will be jetting off to see her siblings for the Easter weekend. Thankfully I will not be there to witness the drunken antics that will no doubt occur. I can only hope there will be no photographic evidence of the shenanigans. I am to remain here ensuring the all runs smoothly at Plums, no Tricia and no Emily. Both gadding about while I dedicate myself to ensuring the website is in tip top shape and getting the lovely Simone Perele arrivals on before they fly out of the shop. I don't know how we would cope if I weren't so committed. I shall console myself with a cheeky bit of chocolate egg.
4th April
Spring is in the air and I have finally managed to get the first delivery of swimwear online. It would be great to know what you think of it. I especially like the Gideon Oberson Mirage with the bronze and turquoise which I think even my pale and interesting complexion would look good in. We've also had all the new Simone Perele delivered. I do wonder if Tricia and I have maybe one too many glasses of Champagne when we ordered as we seem to have a very odd range of sizes.
30th March
After a very busy weekend there is no rest for Tricia and myself. As the end of the financial year is upon us we have the dubious pleasure of our annual stock check. I am here watching Tricia going through the drawers counting away poised to note down how many Ines, Deauville and Dekkers we have in. It is remarkable how much lovely stock we have and it all requires counting.
22nd March
The shop has been a bastian of order and glamour as I have been in attendance in the boutique for 2 days while Tricia has been doing a bit of decorating. It is lovely to get to see all the customers who pop in and I am sure they appreciate the higher standard of service while I am in the shop. Poor Tricia she does try but I am for ever thankful for the kindness and patience of our customers.
16th March
I have returned from the north and the shop is still in one piece, in fact Tricia has rearranged the rails to show off the new Marjolaine nightwear off. The colours are stunning with turquoise silk trimmed with ivory lace and a beautiful rose pink silk negliee which is a real eye catcher.
The sun is shiny so the spring is here and we are excited to have the new lingerie arrive. Next step is to get it on the website so you can see it!
5th March
Arrivals are coming almost daily. The latest is a stunning new range of swimwear from Gideon Oberson, goregous designs a lovely contrmporary styles.
I am taking a weekend off this and as you can imagine Tricia could get up to allsorts of trouble without my guidance. I won't go into the time she tried to fixed the internet after tidying up the cables! I can only hope that Emily, the Saturday girl keeps an eye on her and the boutique is in one piece with no sign of electrical fires or singed lace.
25th February
Time is flying by and thankfully we are seeing a bit of sunshine at long last. A definite sign of spring are the new arrivals that are being delivered almost daily. To try and make sure we get these on the website as soon as possible Tricia and I set up our mini photo studio in the back room of the shop, assembled all the stock, ironed all the negliees only to discover our camera was on the blink. After 20 mins of pressing every button available I gave up deciding that a purple hue over ever photo was not going to help you see our lovely new pieces.
So new camera time, and Tricia is very exacting with her specifications. No pocket size camera even if it has a million mega pixels, it's got to be chunky. I put this request down to her increasing short sightedness, as if she puts the camera down she may never be able to find it again. Armed with Tricia's requirements I managed to find a suitable camera which is chunky and actually takes good pictures. Hopefully with the new camera you'll see and improvement in the images on the site, however please take into account that Tricia, not David Bailey. will still be operating the camera. I have already managed to put up some images of the lovely Mayfair from Prima Donna, a gorgeous fresh which bra with lemon yellow flowers. Over the coming weeks you should see lots of lovely new stock! If you want to be kept up to date with the new arrivals just join the Plums Club and we will send you email updates.
12th February
It's party night tonight at Plums!! Tricia and I have organised one of our little soirees for the Jersey customers. Champagne cocktails are de rigeur on these evening and tonight I am experimenting with orange, peach and apricot juice. I haven't yet decided on name for it yet, any suggestions would be gratefully received! Tonight is bound to be busy and I am not sure how on earth I am going to be able to keep an eye on Tricia. I have enlisted some help to sustitute her cocktails with a non alcoholic variety. I don't fancy their chances, she has the nose of a bloodhound when it comes to the sparkly stuff. I can only hope she makes it through the evening without ending up slumped in the corner of the changing room.
I expect the usual decerning clientele will attend to take advantage of the free booze fabulous 25% discount we will be doing. You lovely non Jersey customers will be able to take advantage of the discounts from the 13th.
29th January
After all the excitement of Paris I have settled back down to work, trying to make sure the site is up to date. Today Tricia and I had the lovely Nicola from Prima Donna come to visit us with the Autumn Winter collections from Marie Jo, Marie Jo L'aventure and Prima Donna. Even though I saw the collection when I was in Paris it's always good to have a second look before putting in the order.
Throught the 3 collections there are lots of beautiful rich purples and the black pieces are more stunning than ever. The biggest surprise was the L'aventure range. We have stocked this in the past and it's never really taken off, maybe a tad to young and athletic for our discerning customers. But this season it is a lot more sophisticated using lovely ruffles and ribbon detailing, so that will be with us before Christmas.
I already have my eye on a few things but as I am 'staff', as Tricia refers to me, I am not allowed to get too excited until the customers have had a look at it first! Beginning to get the impression Tricia is not appreciating the value I am adding. It could be that she's annoyed that I availed myself of the Tom bra from L'aventure that she was testing out. However I believe that I am giving it a thorough testing by wearing it, well that's my excuse!
I've also finished my article on the key trends from the Salon de Lingerie in Paris. I'll add the link to it shortly.
22nd January
Back from Paris and I have had a fantastic time. The show was amazing and it was great to catch up with the suppliers. On Saturday was my appointment with the lovely Carole from Simone Perele. There is a great deal of excitement over the new autumn/winter range and I can see why. The collection has a wonderful sophistication and combines beautiful styling with gorgeous lace in sexy subdued tones.
Key colours that came through in the lingerie for this autumn/winter are deep inky blues, soft lavender greys and pale shell pinks. Lace is a strong influence combined with ruffles on a strong corsetry styling.
The lovely nightwear from Marjolaine comes it much stronger shades, The blues are electric and the pinks, either a vibrant fuchsia or powdery tone. It was so tricky to narrow down the choice with all the wonderful colours that were on display.
The show was quieter than in previous years but there was a real focus in the collections and the theme for the show was all about the fit. Good news for all our Plums Lingerie ladies. I’ll be putting a full length report online soon.
15th January
Only one day to go before I fly off to Paris and do the buying for the Autumn/Winter season. Christmas is barely finished before I start thinking about the next. Tricia has given me a list of instructions to ensure I don't go mad or not buy enough. It's usually the latter, very much better safe than sorry. The show is a lovely opportunity to meet up with the suppliers and get an insight into what is popular in other parts of the globe. I will give a full report when I get back and I am sure despite the rigorous schedule I will manage to squeeze in a bit of site seeing and a cheeky glass of champagne.
9th January
The boutique is now open again after our little winter break and Tricia has given it an early spring clean. Thankfully she is a dab hand with a paintbrush and has given the window coat of paint. We've tidied up after the Christmas rush and had customers in looking to spend their gift vouchers.
The new year is a time for resolutions but it's so easy to promise to lose weight, give up smoking, take more time for yourself and before you know it life has got in the way. Why not set a goal that's easily achievable and will make you feel good about yourself? They say that a properly fitting bra can take 5lbs off you and the amazing Miraclesuit shapewear claims you can lose 10lbs in 10 seconds! So that's 15lbs without having to suffer starvation diets and aching muscles!!
24th December
The day before Christmas and a final flurry of activity in the boutique. Wide eyed panic stricken gents bound through the door looking for a gift that doesn't scream 'left to the last minute'. Tricia is an expert at producing the perfect solution, whether it's a little negligee or a bra and briefs set, wrapping it beautifully and finishing with a big plum organza bow. Firm favourites this Christmas have been the Marie Jo Ikuma in red, the simple black Greta and the delicious pink Prima Donna Saint Germain.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL

Apologies for the gap here but I seem to have broken the blog and deleted all the entries for November and December. I really must get better at saving my writing.

31st October 2008
We held the Breakthrough Breast Cancer fashion in the boutique last night. It was great fun and we raised over £200. The models were fantastic and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. I think this may become an annual event. I hope to get some photos on the site soon!

26th October 2008
The fantastic Saint Germain from Prima Donna has been delivered! Stunning in both the pink and black I will try and get it up on the website by next week. This is definitely going to be on a lot of Christmas lists this year. Santa take note!
Preparations are well underway for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer fashion show we are holding on 30th October. Tricia and I have been undergoing a rigorous tasting schedule to pick the perfect pink fizz, tough but someone has to do it. Three of my lovely models have been in to try on some outfits which has been the perfect opportunity to see the new Marjolaine nightwear that arrived this week. So gorgeous!

20th October 2008
The start of another week and the weather has definitely taken a turn for the chilly. Sunday was glorious and Tricia and I took our wares to the Bridal Fayre at the Royal Yacht. We met lots of lovely brides and I think it would be perfect to have a Plums Party just for brides one evening.

16th October 2008
I love this time of year, every time I come back from the day job there is an exciting parcel that Tricia is pricing up. We've just had in the stunning Natasha from Marie Jo. This is a lovely lingerie set for the winter, it combines being pretty with being practical. I haven't yet decided whether I prefer the navy blue or the black. Tricia has definitely noticed me looking longingly at the balcony bra in my size and she's given me the look don't touch signal. Um I might have to suggest she takes the day off on Saturday....

13 October 2008
Welcome to my first lingerie blog entry! To help keep you up to date with the latest news at Plums and the rest of the lingerie industry, I'll be keeping this blog. No doubt Tricia will be putting her two pennies worth in from time to time, don't think I could stop her if I tried.
We're are very excited that the website is now live and I am developing an obsession with checking Google Analytics to see which exotic locale has clicked on the site.
Tricia and I want to run the website like our boutique, with a personal touch, taking your feedback on suggestions on the lingerie we stock and how you like to see things run. On the site you can review different pieces and let everyone know why one brand is better for you than another or what your favourite bra is.
